Privacy, AI, pricing, and where SLPcentral fits in your day.
Ollie is SLPcentral’s AI agent: your personal SLP agent. You text him like a coworker. He drafts session notes and progress reports in your own format from your data, answers “how is this client doing?” with real numbers and the dates behind them, preps you for IEP meetings, and helps you plan sessions.
He drafts and suggests; you make the call. Nothing is saved, sent or submitted until you review it and tap Save, and any number he can’t find in your data is flagged for you to check. Ollie never receives your client name fields.
Ollie is included in SLPcentral Pro for licensed SLPs, and free for graduate students with a daily message limit.
SLPs and future SLPs at every stage. Undergraduate CSD students track their 25 ASHA observation hours with structured notes. Graduate students in placement get the full clinical toolkit free — a real caseload with IEP goals, live session data collection, progress graphs, and notes — alongside all 400 clinical hours tracked by ASHA disorder area, classes and placements on one calendar, and a quick-reference library for the therapy room. Licensed school SLPs run their full caseload: IEP goals, group sessions, one-thumb data collection, and AI-drafted SOAP notes and progress reports.
Your account grows with you — the tools you learn in placement are the same ones waiting when you’re licensed, with your hours and history intact. That includes private-practice owners: many keep their billing or scheduling platform and use SLPcentral as the clinical side of the practice — caseload, goals, data collection, graphs, and notes in one streamlined place.
The whole clinical workflow. You’re doing the same work a licensed SLP does — real students, real sessions, real data, real notes — just supervised and unpaid. So grad students get the full toolkit at no cost: a real caseload (up to 20 clients, which covers a normal placement), IEP goals with targets, live session data collection, automatic progress graphs, session notes, all 400 clinical hours by ASHA disorder area, the calendar, and the reference library. No trial countdown, no credit card.
The one thing that isn’t unlimited is AI drafting. You get 10 free AI-drafted SOAP notes or progress reports — that’s a lifetime total, not a daily allowance, so you can spend them whenever they’re actually useful instead of racing a clock. Ten is enough to find out whether drafting from your own data genuinely saves you time across different students and different sessions.
After that, everything else keeps working exactly as it did — your caseload, your data collection, your graphs, your hours, your notes. You just write the drafts yourself, or upgrade when you’d rather not. Most grads don’t need to pay until they’re licensed and earning, and that’s deliberate.
Yes! District systems and SLPcentral solve different problems. Your district’s IEP or Medicaid platform is the system of record: it’s where documentation legally lives, and it’s built for compliance, not for you. SLPcentral is your personal workflow layer — the fast data collection during the session, the automatic progress graphs, and the drafted note at the end.
Most SLPs use them together: collect and draft in SLPcentral, review and polish, then paste the finished note into the district system. The district gets the same documentation it always did — you just didn’t spend your evening producing it.
For one reason: to give you your evenings back. The blank page at 6 pm is the worst part of this job — you already did the session, collected the data, and know what happened, but you still have to type it all out. SLPcentral uses AI to draft the SOAP note or progress report from the trial data you already collected, so you start from a solid draft instead of a blank page.
We’re deliberate about what the AI is not: it is an assistant, never a replacement for your clinical judgment. It is built to cite only the data you actually collected and is instructed never to invent trial numbers, accuracy percentages, or cue levels — but like any AI it can make mistakes, so check every draft against your data. Every output is visually marked as a draft, and you always take the final action. If the data isn’t there, the draft says so instead of making something up.
No app is "HIPAA compliant" on its own; compliance depends on how it’s used. Here’s what we do: your clinical records are stored in Google Cloud, US only, under a signed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with Google; AI drafting runs on Anthropic’s Claude under a signed Business Associate Agreement with Anthropic, US only; the database is private, encrypted and access-logged; client names stay on your device unless you turn on encrypted sync; and AI never sees names.
If you’re a HIPAA covered entity (for example, a private practice that bills insurance), HIPAA requires a Business Associate Agreement with us before you store patient information. We offer one: email privacy@slpcentral.app with your practice name.
Because the AI never sees who your clients are: drafting receives a random code, never a name, and our server refuses text that looks like a name. Drafting runs on Anthropic’s Claude and transcription on Google Speech-to-Text, each under a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement. Brain Dump audio is transcribed and discarded — we never store audio, and the app does not record therapy sessions.
Schools: ask your district whether it needs its own agreement with us.
And every AI output is a labeled draft. Nothing is sent or signed on your behalf, and a draft only becomes part of a record when you choose to save it.
SLPcentral is $14.99 per month, or $149.99 per year (about two months free). One subscription covers everything — caseload management, live data collection, AI-drafted SOAP notes and progress reports, the calendar, and hours tracking.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime. Not ready to subscribe? Licensed SLPs can start free with up to 5 clients and 3 AI drafts a day, no card needed.
Students don’t pay. Undergraduate hour tracking is free, and graduate students in placement get the full clinical toolkit free — caseload, goals, live data collection, graphs, notes, and all 400 hours — with 10 free AI drafts to try the drafting workflow. The paid plan is aimed at licensed clinicians doing this for a living, not at students doing it for credit.
Most tools in this space bolt AI on as a separate chatbot: you finish your session, then go describe it to an AI from scratch. SLPcentral is built the other way around — the AI drafts from the data you already collected during the session, with the numbers cited. Tap ✓ or ✗ during therapy, and the graph, the SOAP note, and the progress report all build from the same source. No re-typing, no blank page.
It’s also built by an SLP grad student who lives this work every day, priced for an individual clinician’s budget instead of a district contract, and designed privacy-first — with AI that never sees your clients’ names.
Yes — your CF year is $74.99 instead of $149.99, and you move to the normal price only once you’re certified. The CF year is when the paperwork lands hardest and you’re paid the least, so it’s the year the help is worth the most.
There’s no application window to wait for and nothing to upload. Fill in the short form at slpcentral.app/cf — where you graduated, who your CF mentor is, and where you’re doing your fellowship — and we’ll email you a code, usually within a day or two. One CF year per person.
Yes — SLPcentral is on the App Store for iPhone. It also runs in your browser — on a laptop, a tablet, or your phone’s browser — with everything included: your caseload, live ✓/✗ data collection, graphs, SOAP notes, and progress reports.
Use whichever you like, or both. Sign in with the same account and your goals, data, and notes are there. Turn on name sync and your client names show everywhere too, encrypted. Prefer to keep them on one device? You can.
Yes. Many SLPs get professional tools reimbursed through district professional-development or materials funds — we’re happy to provide receipts and documentation for a reimbursement request.
If your district wants to purchase directly or cover a whole SLP team, reach out at support@slpcentral.app and we’ll work with your purchasing process.
